How Does GHRP-2 Work?

GHRP-2 is a synthetic ghrelin agonist.  Ghrelin is a newly-discovered gut peptide that binds to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor. Studies show that it offers two major effects, such as stimulating GH secretion and initiating appetite. GHRP-2 was extensively studied as a growth hormone secretagogue on animal test subjects. The tests done on rodents show that it can increase food intake. However, whether it can also provide the same effect in humans has yet to be proven and further testing is needed.

During the said lab tests, it was proven that GHRP-2 may possibly help in improving metabolism, strengthening the immune system, protecting the bones and joints, and promoting healthier skin. However, there were some side effects noted as well, like gynecomastia, slight irritation, swollen ankles, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Blood sugar control issues were also observed, and it may lead to other symptoms such as headaches and elevated levels of cortisol.
